Dresser – Shakespeare in Love
At Interlochen, I worked as a dresser for Shakespeare in Love and was responsible for making sure costumes were managed smoothly and efficiently across five performances. I prepared and preset costumes backstage, assisted actors with quick changes, and tracked costume shifts for multiple characters. I organized dressing rooms, labeled and maintained items, and coordinated laundry needs between shows.
I also handled minor repairs and delivered costumes to the shop for alterations to ensure the visual continuity of the production. The dresser packet I followed detailed every cue, including which actor needed assistance, when the change happened, and where it took place. This experience required strong organizational skills, focus under pressure, and collaboration with performers, the costume technologist, and other production professionals to support the success of this amazing show.
