Collage – Grid Enlargement Chalk Design
At Interlochen’s annual Collage event, our cohort worked as a team to create a large-scale chalk mural using a grid enlargement process. We measured and mapped the pavement together, then each student designed a section that connected seamlessly into the whole. I was responsible for a section featuring a rose, theatrical mask, sword, and key which are symbols of storytelling and creativity. I used chalk layering and blending techniques that brought depth and vibrancy to the design. This project showed me how collaboration can support creating something far greater than any one person could achieve alone. It truly was a memorable experience.
