Study of the Movement of the Body

At Interlochen, I worked with a visiting professor from the Savannah College of Art and Design to study movement and proportion through practice with figure drawing. I utilized an artist’s mannequin and positioned the body into different poses and sketched each one to capture its form. This process helped strengthen my work in proportion, balance, and anatomy which are essential elements for costume and character design. By diving deeper into an exploration of how the body shifts in space, I implemented these techniques into my designs to create a dynamic and realistic designs that are connected to movements in performance.
